Dr. Bob Dirks earned a Master’s degree in Applied Physics from the University of Twente in 2002, specializing in High Energy and Particle Physics. He completed his PhD in 2006 at CEA/Saclay and the University of Paris 7, focusing on developing Cd(Zn)Te X- and gamma-ray detectors, which later contributed to the ESA Solar Orbiter's STIX instrument. He then worked on cryogenic detectors at SRON for the Athena and SPICA missions before joining TNO in 2010 as a Systems Architect in Quantum Technology. Dr. Dirks also served as an external advisor to the European Commission and as a quantum security engineer at EUSPA. In June 2024, he co-founded QuDef, offering quantum cybersecurity solutions for integrating quantum communication and computing into classical infrastructure.

Empowering the future of secure information technology, QuDef pioneers quantum security by delivering cutting-edge services and products, specialising in assurance, risk assessment, threat intelligence, auditing, education, and consulting for the seamless integration of quantum communication and computing into existing classical infrastructure.

We have developed SQOUT, an advanced quantum technology threat intelligence and knowledge platform designed to empower your organisation to perform comprehensive security evaluations, stay ahead of emerging quantum-related threats, and ensure compliance with industry standards and recommendations.
